All right, so status update on my Captain: we're seeing much improvement. Still feeling muzzy-headed and stupid. Didn't wake up till 2 today, not counting getting up at 8 & 9 to give Captain his meds and again at 10 to give him his food back. Have a vet appt at 4:30, hopefully to get a better idea of what's wrong with him ( Read more... )

Captain's eaten a little bit. 1/4 ounce of dry food. I know it doesn't sound like much (and it isn't), but it's more than he's eaten for the past two days.

He also hasn't thrown up. Keep your fingers crossed.

He's also climbed up to the top of the nightstand (5ft high). That's more like my prowly, climby Captain.

So, last night at a little before eight, I went into the dining room and saw two little puddles on bloody froth on the floor. I knew it was from Captain, since I'd separated him and Islay, so I immediately began freaking out, as you do when you see pools of blood on the floor. Quish was awesome, by the way, so props to her.

So, someone's been throwing up a bit around the house recently. Mostly the gross gunk that means hairballs, but while this isn't exactly ordinary behavior, throwing up hairballs isn't all that surprising either.

So, I have a problem with certain words*. It's not that they're vulgar or anything, it's just that they have certain connotations that squick me out. I also have a problem with bodily functions, ie, admitting I have them. So, everyone who told me that bathing the kittens when they were wee would acclimate them to being bathed as adults?

LIED.

Islay is bathed and I am injured. Still, I think I won, as Islay is more bathed than I am injured.

I will not be trying the same thing with the Captain, as I'm pretty sure I will end up injured without him getting bathed. ( Read more... )
